Elmhurst City Centre’s Girlfriends Getaway

Start at the Girlfriend’s Lounge in the City Centre office at 5:00 pm. Pick up a free Goodie Bag (for the first 400 girlfriends) and a Getaway Deals Guide and start shopping. The Elmhurst City Centre office is located at 147 N York Street in downtown Elmhurst.

Elmhurst Park District: Art in the Park

ImageVisit this juried show of Fine Art and Crafts at Wilder Mansion that runs from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm both Saturday and Sunday. With free admission, this is the place to be this weekend. There will be activities for the kids from 11:00 to 2:00 pm, sponsored by the Elmhurst Art Museum, a variety of food vendors, an interactive booth from Microsoft and great giveaways from Mariano’s.

Fishing Clinic For Kids

Thinking about spending some quality time with your kids? Fishing may be the answer and Hidden Lake, located at the southeast Corner of Route 53 and Butterfield Road, may be the place to start. From 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm, you andfishing icon your kids can learn about different kinds of fish, how to catch them and the fishing rules at Hidden Lake. This activity is free for kids aged 6 to 17 accompanied by an adult. Registration is required and has already begun. Please call (630) 933-7248 to register.

Enjoy some beautiful music from the Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble at Elmhurst College’s Hammerschmidt Chapel at 7:30 pm. The concert is free and open to the public.

Annual Pet ParadeImage

It’s time for the 26th Annual Pet and Bike Parade, sponsored by the Spring Road Business Association and Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce. Bring the kids for the free Moon Jump, Face Painting, Pet Portraits and Bike Decorating. The parade steps off promptly at 1:00 PM. Enter your favorite pet by filling out this form and dropping it off at Devries Animal Hospital. Donations will also be accepted for Yorkfield Food Pantry.

Elmhurst Museum Day

ImageIt’s International Museum Day and Elmhurst’s three museums are offering a free afternoon of culture. Park at one museum and ride the free trolley to the other museums. Take exhibit tours, participate in kids’ activities and get a stamp at all three museums to be entered in a drawing for fun prizes. Experience the cultural contributions The Elmhurst Art Museum, The Lizzadro Museum of Lapidary Art and The Elmhurst Historical Museum make to our community.

The 93rd Annual Elmhurst Memorial Day Parade

Memorial Day Festivities start with one of the oldest parades in the area marching through downtown Elmhurst at 9:30 am. The parade steps off at the corner of York and Third and proceeds down York Street to Wilder Park. Follow the parade to the Veterans Memorial in Wilder Park for a Post-Parade Military Ceremony at 11:00 am. Co-sponsored by the City of Elmhurst, Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce and the Elmhurst American Legion THB Post 187.
